Mrs. Parker was born in Pickens County, SC on August 20, 1944 to the late Fred Farris and Willie Mae Johnson Grant. She was a loving and generous person who would always put others before herself. Mrs. Parker spent her life using her excellent "motherly" instincts to take care of her family and friends. Known as "JuJu" to her nieces and nephews and a loving sister to her siblings, her family was most important in her life. She was an avid Clemson fan, and a member of Porter's Chapel United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Parker is survived by her four siblings: Katie G. Trotter of Pickens, Douglas C. Grant (Mary) of Pickens, Freddie G. Poterala of Fountain Inn, and Jane G. Blackwell of Greenville; a sister-in-law: Gale Grant of Pickens; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her loving parents, Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by a daughter: Amanda Jane Parker; a brother: Pat Grant; and three brother-in-law's: Bert Trotter, Robert Poterala, and David Blackwell.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Porter's Chapel United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends following the service at the Church.
A private family graveside will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to either Porter's Chapel United Methodist Church: 152 E Preston McDaniel Rd, Pickens, SC 29671; or to a charity of one's choice.
