Mr. Donald Schaefer

Donald E. Schaefer Pickens, SC Donald Earl Schaefer, 80, of N. Catherine Street, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014. Born in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of the late Edwin Earl Schaefer and Florence Kai Schaefer. Mr. Schaefer was retired from the US Air Force after sixteen years of service. He also served four years in the US Navy. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Pickens and loved creating beautiful memories through woodworking. Surviving are his wife of the home, Marjorie Comer Schaefer; children, Kandyce Ayne Hawkenberry of St. Augustine, FL, David Thomas Schaefer of Piedmont, SC, Douglas Earl Schaefer of Gray Court, SC, Kassandra Michele Taylor of St. Augustine, FL and Jamie Savacool Pickrell of Mooresville, NC; grandchildren, Michael, Darrell and Ashley Hockenberry, Amanda and Megan Powell, Brittany and Heather Schaefer, Daniel and April Turcotte and Aaron Pickrell; great grandchildren, Tristan, Aubrey and Elena; and a brother, Clifford Schaefer of Rochester, NY. A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Schaefer’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Faith Lutheran Church in Pickens.
