Dan Blackwell

Born on October 16, 1940, in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Jim and Artie Daniel Blackwell. Dan was retired from Milliken and was an avid fisherman, hunter and grass cutter. He held a barber license, working occasionally at Gravely Barber Shop in Pickens, and was also an auto mechanic.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Yvonne Chappell Blackwell; two sons, Reverend Ronnie Blackwell (Martha) and Jimmy Blackwell (Cendy); one daughter, Sherry Blackwell; one sister, Hilda Pruitt (Tolly); eleven grandchildren, Megan (Levi), Lane, Jordan, Brittany, Julie, Dana (John), David (Charity), Joshua, Tracey, Cameron, and Jeremy (Heatheer), and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Dan was also predeceased by one daughter, Vickie Sweat and one brother, Tommy Blackwell.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 22, 2019, at 4 p.m. at Cox Chapel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m.

The family will be at the home.
