Theodore 'Tate' Lyman, age 64, of Phoenix passed away on November 27, 2016. Ted was born in Bagdad, AZ on May 20, 1952 to Warren and Velma (Gay) Lyman. He is preceded in death by his father. Ted had a keen intellect which served him well, while attending NAU and after graduation as a CPA. He provided accounting services for over 40 years in the Phoenix Area. In his personal life, Ted had been an avid bike rider and continued to be a firearms enthusiast. He earned a black belt in karate in 1998 after many years of studying martial arts. His great sense of humor was one of his outstanding characteristics. He will also be remembered as a kind and generous person. Ted is survived by his mother, Velma Lyman; two brothers Fred and Ed Lyman; his two children, Nicholas and Krista Lyman; their mother, Ted’s former wife, Linda Wellman; 3 grandchildren, Lily Lyman, Madelynn Sheely, and Landon Lyman; and his beloved cat, Mesa. His life will be celebrated at a memorial service Saturday, December 10, 2016, 10:00am at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix, AZ 85022.
