He was a WWII Veteran having served in the United States Navy in the Southern Pacific. The ship and crew received 5 bronze stars for the Asiatic Pacific and 2 for the Philippines.
He lived and worked in Racine, Wisconsin at Racine Unified School District for 23 years. He retired in 1986 and moved to Stuart, Florida. In 2000 he moved to Phoenix, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his brothers John, Ted and sister Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Donna, his son Phillip in Scottsdale, Arizona, his daughter Jaqueline Hall and son-in-law Lonnie in Racine, Wisconsin, his nephew Theo Mastos and wife Diana, and son Tim of Miami, Florida, two granddaughters in Racine, Wisconsin, Melissa (Steve) Latham and Lindsey Mastos and two great grandsons, Briady and Dalton.
He will be laid to rest at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, at 2:00P.M. on Thursday, November 8, 2012.
