Soledad was the 2nd born of 9 siblings. She had fond memories of helping her mother care for them, and her father whom taught her to work in the garden. Soledad married at the age of 20 to Cirilo Munoz, and began a family of her own to 7 children... Reynaldo, Amelia, Juan, Mary, Carmen, Lucy and Oscar.
Soledad moved to Arizona in 1960, where she raised her children on her own, and found work cleaning homes to support them. She cared for the grandchildren as they came along, and her father until his passing. She would also welcome friends into her home.
Soledad loved to garden, and enjoyed her instant coffee with sweet bread in the mornings. She spoke of stories of her younger years growing up, and all she had learned from her parents. She showed her love to us by cooking a meal, and Christmas gifts were her mother's secret recipe tamales, and homemade sweet bread, which she would wrap in foil, place in a Christmas bag or with a card.
Soledad is survived by her brothers Juan Patino, Isaac Patino, sister Magdalene Pruneda, many nieces and nephews, son Oscar Hernandez, daughters Mary Lewis, Carmen Leach, Lucy Munoz, many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great-Great Grandchildren.
Soledad, our mother was loved, and will truly be missed.
