Silvia Avila Soto

Silvia was born on February 22nd, 1958 in Ciudad Juarez- Chihuahua, Mexico, daughter of Gilberto Avila Reyes and Maria Del Refugio Soto. She grew up in her parent’s hometown of Nuevo Ideal in Durango, Mexico. She lived the grater part of her life in the United States primarily in California and Arizona. Silvia passed-away unexpectedly the morning of August 28th, 2021.

She is survived by her partner Felipe Huaracha, her sons and daughters, Jorge Barraza, David, Sonya and Martin Hernandez and Gracie Avila. Her Parents Gilberto Avila Reyes and Maria del Refugio Soto. Her Brother Martin Avila and her Grandchildren Lily and Camila Olson, Caleb, Adrian, Andrea and Dalia Hernandez and Isabel, Jorge and Diego Barraza.

There are not enough words to explain the magnitude of how beautiful and amazing of a person she was inside and out. She had a warm and welcoming heart for everyone, always worried about others before herself, family near and far. She loved traveling and being surrounded by people she loved; it genuinely gave her life and joy. She leaves us behind eternally proud of her for her triumph in the completion of her dream home in her childhood hometown of Nuevo Ideal. Even after her retirement she set an example for us that, anything is possible with the grace of God.

She will be remembered for her grand generosity, her daily prayers, her amazing cooking, her truly unconditional love, her advice that always made things better… but mostly for her life-long efforts at making sure we always knew without a doubt, the special love and place she held in her heart for us all. She will live forever in our hearts!

Visitation and Funeral Services will be held at Resthaven/ Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens: 4310 East Southern Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85042

Visitation: Friday September 10th, 2021 from 4:00-8:00pm

Funeral Services & Procession Walk to resting place: Saturday September 11th, 2021 at 9:00 am.
