In loving memory of Robert Charles Lothridge. Born to Clifford and Flossie Lothridge on July 17, 1938, in Texarkana, Texas, peacefully passed away January 11, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and cherished memories. He was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Flossie, and his brother Eugene Lothridge.
Robert’s journey through life was marked by dedication, achievement, and a deep commitment to family. He grew up in Bakersfield, California where he graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1956. He was a proud member of the track team and baseball team. He showcased his athleticism and sportsmanship, foreshadowing the remarkable qualities that would define his life. After graduating, Robert pursued higher education, earning his Associate Degree at Sacramento City College in 1961. He embarked on a lifelong journey with the love of his life, Curtisteen Wallace, and celebrated an impressive 63 years of marriage. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Robert’s patriotism shone brightly as he dedicated 20 years of his life to serving his country in the United State Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant. His service took him to various military bases, including Lackland AFB in Texas, Tyndall AFB in Florida, Tan Son Nhut Air Base in Vietnam, Brooks AFB in Texas, Edwards AFB in California, and Osan Air Base in Korea, culminating in his retirement at Mather AFB in Sacramento, California. Upon concluding his military career, Robert continued his service to the Nation, working for the Department of Defense for two decades. He also ventured into entrepreneurship owning and operating Unique Limousine Service, and later transitioned to Delta Airlines, where he contributed his skills and dedication for eight years.
Beyond his professional achievements, Robert embraced life and joys with an adventurous spirit. His love for travel, RVing, fishing, boating, and the art of cooking and barbecuing brought joy to those around him. An avid reader, he found solace and inspiration in the world of literature.
Robert leaves behind a legacy of love and family. He is survived by his devoted wife Curtisteen; his son Keith Lothridge of Sacramento, CA; his daughters Robin Polani of Sacramento, CA and Traci Morgan of Litchfield Park, AZ . He is also survived by two sisters, Martha Lothridge and Elaine Lothridge of Bakersfield, CA. His memory lives on in the hearts of his four grandchildren, Courtney Polani, Dominique Polani, Tramaine Bell Sr., and Lamont Morgan; as well as his seven great grandchildren and the many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who cherished him.
Robert Charles Lothridge will be deeply missed but never forgotten by all who were privileged to know and love him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
