Bob was born in Oakland, California to Harry and Regina Bloom on July 15, 1945. At the age of 12 the family moved to Phoenix. Bob was a graduate of Cortez High School and excelled in athletics. Following his graduation Bob attended Brigham Young University until his mission call. As a young man he served as a missionary in the Central German Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints. Following his mission, he met the love of his life, Linda Johnson. They were sealed for time and eternity on June 21, 1968 in the Mesa Arizona Temple.
Bob loved the scouting program. At the age of 14 he earned the rank of Eagle Scout and would serve in many positions within his troop. He served as a Scoutmaster for many years. Bob loved the outdoors. He loved camping, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed using his hands and became involved in every aspect of the construction industry, and eventually designed and built his own home. Bob enjoyed being involved in civic endeavors and at the age of 33 became the Vice Mayor of the City of Peoria. One of his favorite things to do was to watch the hummingbirds, cardinals and finches as they came into the feeders. He loved to sit and watch the wildlife when camping. He took delight in walking around the acreage around his home and checking on all the 200 trees that he planted. He retired in 2019 after 32 years with American Airlines as an inflight instructor and evaluator.
He always had a smile on his face, and something fun to say that would make you laugh. He is remembered as a husband, father, and grandfather.
Bob is survived by his wife Linda of 55 years, his sons Benton James (Jamie) Bryan Allen (Emily) and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Regina Bloom.
