Ralph Jay Swenson, age 90, passed away May 29, 2016, Phoenix, Arizona. Ralph was born July 28, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son to Alma Swenson and Laura Gem Gardner. He is preceded by his brother Gardner Swenson and survived by his sister Ariadne Benham. He was married on June 19, 1953 to his beloved wife Shirley (Anderson) Swenson, Salt Lake Temple, who passed on August 5, 2009. Ralph is survived by daughter Camille Swenson, and twin sons Rick Swenson, Cary and (Cynthia Linton) Swenson; four grandchildren: Emily, Ethan, Katie and Kara. Ralph is a veteran of World War II and served in the Navy as an airplane mechanic. He was a graduate of the University of Utah and is an active member of the Osborn Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Dad was a successful and prudent business man—developing and managing hotels. He loved golf, fishing, hunting, camping and backpacking. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Osborn Ward, 3102 North 18th Avenue, Phoenix at 11:00 am and viewing at 10:00 am. He will be interred in Ogden Utah. Arrangements under the direction of A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Bethany Chapel, Phoenix, AZ.
