Pauline was a remarkable woman. She just exuded positivity and love. She had a way of making you feel like the most important person in the room. Whether it had been months since I had seen her, or days, she always had the same level of enthusiasm! She would scream and run across the room and give me the biggest hug. I lost both of my Grandmas over the years and I always thought of Pauline as an adoptive Grandma. I'm so grateful to have known her & will miss her dearly.

This has been a very tough loss.  I still don't want to believe it.  It was a distinct pleasure of my life to have known Pauline.  I feel very honored and privileged to have been embraced by her and her wonderful family that she brought into this world.  Many joys and wonderful memories that her children share today are because of her love and guidance.  Her warmth and loving nature to her family and friends could be felt by all who met her.  Pauline's friendship with my mother meant so much to me because she helped lift my mom's spirits, when I could not.  I will miss your lust for laughter and your relentless passion for your family.  I will forever miss you…

To Pauline's Family.  I would like to share my love for your mom with you.  She was a wonderful woman.  Strong, Witty, Smart, Wonderful, Special, Sensitive, Friendly, Talented, Cook, Independent, and the list goes on.  I would like to now write you a poem using all the letters in her name.

Put them all together you have Pauline.  There is so many other names and phrases to use and I know that you would know even more.  Thank you so very much for your mom.  We will all miss her.

I have a song that I want to share with all of her family and friends, which is a testimony of the kind and friendly person she was.  I miss her terribly.  I walk down the hall area to go to our vehicle, which was her parking space then.  I walk on the back sidewalk and look over to see her place because she was such a great friend, I loved having her as a neighbor, friend, helper, great cook, swim buddy, and walking buddy.  She was so special to me and I will forever love and miss her.  Each life that she touched was blessed, and no one could ever say that she did not love her kids and grandkids because she talked to them all the time, every day, and when she was not talking with them she was telling us those she was with all about the wonderful children and grandchildren she had.  To her children and grandchildren, your mom and grandmother loved you all and talked about the wonderful children and grandchildren you all were.  My prayers are with you all to comfort you, to support you, and console your hearts which will miss her more than the friends. Every time I spoke with Pauline I felt better AFTER our conversation than I did before we chatted. How many people can you say that about? 
There was a warmth and comfortable feeling present whenever we talked and from the first time we met, I felt like I knew her my entire life. Heartfelt condolences go out to our extended Davies/Williamson family.

We would just like to say that we are thinking of you all at this sad time. Pauline was very special and an amazing Mother, Grandmother, Friend (the list is endless) to you all and we are sure she will be sadly missed. No matter what I was going through my momma was always there to listen. I was I am her baby girl she loved me so much and I know that. I am just like her my smile, my hair, my heart, my everything. She was one special lady.. Knowing her for half my life she treated me like family.. She could make you smile with just her own smile.. She was so witty and funny... Such a firecracker you wouldn't expect from by just looking at her... I will never forget her kindness, caring, loving compassion she had for everyone that was in her life.. She would give you the shirt off her back if need be... I always remember her smile and laugh and her accent!!! It took me years to understand!!! I met Pauline 27 years ago in Lafayette Hill, PA.  I had been dating her daughter Wendy for just a few weeks when Pauline saw to it that I was brought around for a proper Sunday dinner. I'd only known Wendy a short while and I was pretty nervous about having dinner with that huge family, but Wendy told me that her 'Mum' had insisted I come ... and you didn't say no to Mum.

So on a cool November Sunday in 1986, I came to dinner.  

I walked in the door and there had to be 37 of them ... Pauline's kids, that is.  They were everywhere.  There were big ones, little ones, blonde ones, brunette ones, even some IDENTICAL ones! And from the moment I arrived they were all talking, non-stop, right over top of one  another (we all know they still do this today).  It was pure chaos except for every now and then when one of them far off in another room would start singing the words from some old Cadbury commercial from English TV, and suddenly from every room they'd all join in, singing in perfect 37 part harmony ... "A finger of fudge is just enough to give your kid's a treat!".  Then they'd all laugh and return to the yelling-over-top-of-one-another bit.  It went on like that for a good hour.  

At one point I came around the corner and a rather attractive woman in a fur coat with sunglasses and bright red lipstick asked me if I wanted to see the rest of the house ... just in time, Wendy walked up and said "Ah, I can see you've met my brother David."  Yeah, I liked David right away.

In the middle of it all was 'Mum', cooking for an army in this big loud house filled with her kids ... and never had I seen anyone quite so happy.  She had a smile a mile wide, an somehow she managed to carry on 15 conversations at the same time with her kids.  She even had time to protect me from Andrew and Pete, shooing them away whenever they would run into the room to tease me for dating their sister (they still do this).  

Finally, dinner hit the table and all 37 of them sat down.  And it got very quiet.  Good food will do that to a room.  I wasn't prepared for the fact that I was about to have THE BEST roast beef and gravy I've ever had, anywhere, period.  She was an amazing cook, and she was so happy sitting at that table with her kids.  

Later that night as I was leaving, I thanked her and told her how much I'd enjoyed dinner, and I asked her what her secret was for that amazing gravy.  She said "Well now Pepper luv, it's a family secret, so if you want that gravy you'll just have to marry our Wendy."  So, I took her advice.  I married Wendy ... and I must say I've had excellent gravy ever since.

I didn't get to spend nearly enough time with Mum over the years ... but I think I learned a whole lot about her at that first dinner.  She loved her kids.  She loved a good laugh.  She loved good conversations.  

And she made the world's best gravy.  

And I will miss her.  And I will hug my wife when my wife misses her.  

Love to the whole family, all 37 of you.  I wish I could be with you all this week, but I'm tied up here in Pennsylvania. Take care of my Wendy and my Ashley out there.

I've been lucky enough to have known Pauline for more than half my life and in those years she was my "best friend" and a second mom. She taught me that filling your purse full of little jelly packets wasn't stealing because they were complimentary and that you shouldn't care what people think of you 
, both things I deeply respect :) My most favorite memory of Pauline is our trip to Vegas where she put on a show for the whole MGM pool to Cher's "I believe" and in true Pauline fashion she got three girls at least half her age to be her back up dancers. And yes she shook it and sang like it was written for her and the people in the pool paid top dollar to see her... And on this glorious trip we also took some AMAZING pics of us in bath towels and roses in our mouths.. Hey it was much classier than it sounds. Ha. 
I loved Pauline for her sense of humor, her ability to thicken her accent when she wanted a deal on something (which by the way she was the original super coupon clipper, I was there when she actually got .06 cents back per box of ricearoni, she bought so she like 60)  and her fierce love of her friends and above all her family. I will miss her always but am beyond grateful to have known her and I can only hope that I learned a few things from her along the way and look half as good as she did in the towel when I'm 60.

I am at a loss for words really.....I wish we could have been closer as I got older and we drifted apart. I always thought I had all the time in the world and you would warn me that we didn't. When I was growing up as a little girl, we were so close and you were like a 2nd mom to me and always were there for me! I was Nanny's little girl and it was "Nanny and Nobody Else"! I was looking forward to visiting with you at Thanksgiving and was planning on visiting this summer as I felt the urgency to see you and now it truly is too late!  I don;t want to say good bye and don;t want to accept that I will never see you again unless there is a heaven which then I will see you again! I am really upset that you were taken so suddenly and with no warning and we were not able to say good bye once more time. I never got to tell you how much I love you but I do love you with all of my heart and always have and always will! I wish I could be there to say good bye and obtain closure but I will have to be strong and deal with this on my own! You have once again taught me another life lesson but now thru your death.....Never take your time for granted and seize the moment while its here!  Please watch over me and my kids (ur great grandkids) with your angels I know you have surrounding you and I will look for signs of you as I know you will around watching all of us! I will try to make you proud of your oldest grandaughter and I promise to do my best always! I don;t want to be sad or angry but I am and find it hard to be happy as I know you would want me to be but I will do my best for you! I love you Nanny and I will miss you soooo much! My Nanny you will always be!
