She was preceded in death by her mother, Lola L Woeppel, her father Russell E Woeppel, and her husband, David A Mills.
She is survived by her sister Ann M Woeppel of Kansas City, MO, and her brother Brian E Woeppel, of Phoenix AZ.
Paula attended Thomas Jefferson High School, and was one of many of the Sturgeon/Woeppel family to graduate from the same high school. She attended Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, NE where she graduated with a degree in accounting in 1981. She was working as a senior accountant for CBRE at the time of her death, after a 41 year career.
Paula loved life, loved her family, and more than anything or anyone else, loved Jesus Christ, her savior. She was gifted of God with hospitality and generosity, and it was evident early on in her life. Mom used to laugh about having to keep constant watch of her whenever they went to any store, or Paula would be off to talk to everyone she could introduce herself to. And she was always willing and unashamed to help anyone around her who needed help. People at church, people at work, people on the side of the road. Or at a restaurant, she usually asked the servers and other wait staff if they had anything they needed prayer for. Sometimes they said no, other times they would kneel beside the table as she prayed for them and sought the Lord to help them. She kept divine appointments when God set them for her.
Paula fiercely loved her family and did what she could to help them in any way she could. She will be sorely missed. Her biblical knowledge, her spiritual wisdom, her desire to know God and her passion for hosting and teaching were inspirational.
We will also miss her silliness, her humor, her cooking, and her lifelong love of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. You can take the girl out of Nebraska, but you can't take Nebraska out of the girl.
Thank you all for coming together to remember the life of Paula J Mills, and to celebrate her going home to celebrate with the angels at the throne of God.
A luncheon will follow the memorial service at Hope Chapel Church.
Thank you,
Ann Woeppel & Brian Woeppel
