Pansy (Roberts) Waltz, 88, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012 at 6:15 P.M. Born in Arpin, Wisconsin on April 21, 1924 and graduated from Cambria High School in 1942, she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, bowling, playing bingo, shooting pool and crocheting. She met her husband, Richard Waltz at the University of Wisconsin where he was training as a signal man for the U.S. Navy during World War II. They were married on April 21, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York where she then worked at the Naval Shipyards until Richard’s discharge from the U.S. Navy in October, 1945. They made their home in Medina, Ohio from 1945 till 1981 when they moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Pansy is survived by her sons, Wayne, Thomas (Joanne), and Richard Waltz all of Phoenix, granddaughters Theresa, Rochester, New York, Katherine, serving in the U.S. Navy, great granddaughter Morgan and Pansy’s younger sister Anne Hansen (Al) of Buffalo Grove, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents Grace (Woodford) and Evor Roberts, sister June and brothers Roy and Edgar Roberts. A Celebration of Pansy’s Life will be held at Paradise Valley Ranch Trailer Park Rec Hall, 16005 N. 32nd St. from 10:00 A.M. to noon on Saturday, November 24th, 2012. Inurnment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
