Millie lived a life characterized by love, kindness, and service to others. On October 30, 1955, she married the love of her life, Dominador (Sammy) Yalung, with whom she shared countless cherished memories and experiences.
Millie was a devoted wife and mother, raising five children with boundless love and unwavering dedication. Her children, Michael (Sandra) Yalung, Patrick (Catherine) Yalung, Jayne (Don) Mathews, Mark (Tonja) Yalung, and Stephanie (Roger) Sweets, were the center of her world, and she took great pride in watching them grow and flourish. Millie was also blessed with 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy and laughter into her life.
Millie was a prolific reader who never let a day go by without reading the newspaper. Her love of books and the written word was a defining aspect of her life, which she carried into her career as a Librarian Aide at Deer Valley High School, where she dedicated 20 years of service. Millie's passion for literature and her commitment to fostering a love of reading in others left a lasting impact on the students she worked with. She will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to books and nurturing young minds.
A woman of many talents, Millie found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a passion for crocheting, knitting, and sewing, creating beautiful works of art that were treasured by her family and friends.
Millie's generous spirit extended beyond her family, as she dedicated many hours to volunteering at St. James Catholic Church. Her selfless service and unwavering faith were an inspiration to all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held later. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Always Present Hospice, in honor of Millie. Checks can be mailed to Always Present Hospice at 1400 N. Gilbert Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85234.
Though Millie may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will forever be cherished and remembered by those whose lives she touched with her kindness, warmth, and love.
