On Monday, June 7, 2021, Michael Epitacio Jaramillo passed away at the age of 64. Michael was born on August 7, 1956 in Los Angeles, CA to Felix and Betty (Salazar) Jaramillo. On March 26, 1989, he married Sherri DeLong in Arizona where they lived. They raised five sons and one daughter together. Michael was a dedicated business man, and with his family, owned and managed the restaurant chain Popo’s Fiesta del Sol, to which he is the namesake.
Michael had a passion for serving others through encouraging words and prayer, and his love for the Lord was evident to whoever met him. He was an extremely talented singer and songwriter. His favorite hobbies were fishing, singing karaoke, and driving his beloved truck up to the mountains. His biggest pride and joy were his kids and grandkids, and he was constantly sharing their photos and accolades to everyone he knew.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Felix, his mother, Betty, and his brothers, John and David. He is survived by his six children, Jon-Paul, Jordan, Joshua, Jerrin, Josiah, and Janessa, his nephews who he raised, Joshua and Ezekiel, his brothers, Mario and Joe, 12 grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 10:00 am at Mission Community Church, 4450 E Elliot Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85234. A burial service will be held the same day at 1:45 at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 9925 W Thomas Rd, Avondale, AZ 85392.
