Michael Joseph Bobik

Michael (Mike) Joseph Bobik,60, of Anthem Arizona, passed away after an overwhelming, yet valiant fight with cancer, on Tuesday March 12, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday March 24, 2019 at 1pm and service starting 2pm with a reception following at Shadow Mountain Mortuary 2350 East Greenway Road. Mike was born in Schenectady, New York on June 13, 1958 to Joseph and Dorothy Bobik. He moved to Arizona in 1977 where he eventually met the love of his life, Aletta, in 1982. Together they lovingly raised Aletta's two children, Daniel and Teresa from the ages of 1 and 3. He was as much of a dad to Daniel and Teresa as any father could be. Mike was also a doting grandfather to six beautiful grandchildren, Jacob 11, Cara 10, Evan 8, Nathan 5, Wyatt 5, and Mason 5. He was adored immensely by his grandchildren.

Mike was an esteemed residential real estate appraiser, starting his career in the Mid 1980’s after a back injury in his construction job. In 1993, he and his wife, Aletta formed Bobik and Associates Ltd. and built one of the largest and most respected appraisal groups in the Metro Phoenix Area. This legacy lives on today under the name Marketwise Appraisal, which is owned by his son, Daniel.

Mike was an avid golfer and had played hundreds of golf courses in Arizona and around the US and was known to be a scratch player. He also enjoyed spending time on the sidelines at his grandsons football games, cheering on his granddaughters volleyball games, listening to the amazing ideas and inventions from his grandson, or playing on the floor with the littlest of his grandsons.

Mike always made sure his family was taken care of from caring for his mother (Dorothy), being a listening ear for his sisters (Karen and Michele), to being a tremendous support for his wife and kids. He looked for the good in every person he met. He was a positive ray of light in the lives of everyone he touched. Mike truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; watching a favorite show with his wife and mother, hanging out with his sisters laughing and reminiscing, being with his grandchildren and kids, and playing golf with his buddies. Mike will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Aletta; mother, Dorothy; sister, Karen; sister, Michele; son, Daniel; daughter, Teresa; grandchildren, Jacob, Cara, Evan, Nathan, Wyatt and Mason.
