Melody graduated from Maryvale High School in 1972 and attended Glendale Community College. She married Thomas Paul Baker in 1974 and had two children together, Carey and Todd.
She became a respected environmental activist and was a member of Hope Baptist Church and later attended North Phoenix Baptist.
Melody is preceded in death by her husband and father. She is survived by her mother; both of her children; two grandchildren, Caleb and Tristan Baker; three sisters, Sherri Roberts, Deborah Colbert, Johna Johnson; many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
