Surrounded by family and friends, Mary Ann passed away peacefully on January 17th at the age of 77. Born to Albert and Ruth Schuff in Mt. Gilead, OH, Mary Ann is survived by her three siblings and their spouses: Dick & Ginger Schuff, Dave & Nancy Schuff, and John & Sandy Bear. She was a devoted mother to her children and their partners: Robert Crompton & Sara Anderson and Mark & Catherine McEnderfer. She delighted in her two grandsons Benjamin and Caleb McEnderfer. Mary Ann is also survived by many extended family members, a large church family and numerous friends. Mary Ann attended ASU and embarked on a 45 year teaching career, which was her passion. She was an avid poet and published two books: "Comfort Ye My People" and "Moonbeams & Meditations". A new collection of her writings is in process of being published: "His Words; My Pen". In 1977 Mary Ann received the Freedoms Foundation Valley Forge Teachers medal for patriotic teaching and composing the song, "We Give Our Thanks". She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa and a 64 year member of Historic Presbyterian Church of Phoenix. A celebration of her life will be held on January 22 at Historic Presbyterian Church at 402 W. Monroe; Phoenix, AZ at 10:30 am. A viewing will occur on January 21 at Greenwood Mortuary at 719 N. 27th Ave from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Memorial contributions can be sent Historic Presbyterian Church.
