Marshall Ira Rockoff, 77, passed away on April 7, 2012 in Sun City West, Arizona. Marshall was born on April 20, 1934 in Chicago Illinois at the Michael Reese Hospital to Rose Feinberg who was born in Russia and David Rockoff, who was born in Jerusalem. He met and married his dear wife of 50 years, Joanne R Rockoff on May 29, 1962 in Phoenix, Arizona. Together, Marshall and Joanne had 2 wonderful children; their daughter Sharon Rockoff, who was born on February 4, 1965 and their son Bruce Rockoff who was born on April 10, 1967. Marshall proudly served his country, enlisting in the United States Army from 1955 – 1963; elevating himself to the rank of RA ASA SP3 (T) and eventually left the armed services, receiving an honorable discharge. He then made his career as a Supervisor for the City of Phoenix, retiring after 30 years of dedicated employment. Marshall was a wonderful and beloved gentle spirit who always found time to laugh and love with anyone lucky enough to be in his life. He enjoyed the mountains, spending time with his family, watching the Phoenix Suns, flying radio controlled airplanes, joking with people, helping others, playing cards, and mostly spending time with his dear wife Joanne. Marshall also earned several accolades, which included Sun Valley Flyers Awards, honors, and his special achievements: The Ultimate Phoenix Suns fan and The World’s Greatest Husband, Father, Grandfather, and friend. Marshall was predeceased by his siblings Guerston Rockoff, Burton Rockoff and Sandy Tuma. He is survived by his wife Joanne, children Sharon and Bruce. He is also survived by his four grandchildren: Jennifer, Ryan, Nicholas, and Mikaela, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, and in-laws His sense of humor and loving heart will be missed by all.
