ARMSTRONG, Kevin Patrick, 67, of New River, Arizona, formerly of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2023, while holding the hand of the great love of his life and best friend, his wife of 47 years, Cindy. Kevin was born on June 12,1956 in Jersey City, New Jersey. He attended The Saint Aloysius Parish schools from Kindergarten until half of his senior year of high school. His family then relocated to McKee City and Kevin graduated from Absegami High School in June of 1974. He also attended George Meany Labor College in Washington, DC for organized labor studies. Kevin was an exceptional self-taught guitar player while learning on the first guitar gift from his loving father. Kevin also performed with several bands in and around New Jersey. Wanting to share his love of the guitar, Kevin taught guitar lessons to share this passion with others. Kevin rooted for his New York
Mets and New York Giants, as an avid fan. Kevin worked at Trump Marina as a bartender for many years until he left to work for Local 54 as a Union Organizer. He then retired to care for his father for five years. Kevin then worked for Integrity Transportation in Galloway, New Jersey, until moving to Arizona. Kevin and Cindy moved to Arizona 4 1/2 years ago to follow their dream to travel the country in their
motorhome.
Kevin was predeceased by his beloved Grandmother Scot. Kevin spent his
childhood traveling to New York with Grandmother Scot, going to Coney Island and
riding the roller coasters with her. He often spoke of these times with her how
meaningful these memories were for him. Kevin was also predeceased by his mother
Kathleen, his sister Mary Pat, his brother Michael, his father Lee. Kevin was also
predeceased by his brother in laws, Jimmy Vitanza, John Reynolds, Arthur Israel and
Allen Israel.
Kevin is survived by his wife Cindy, his sons Bradley and Sean, his granddaughters Lacie and Mikayla. He is also survived by his great-grandsons, Jordan and Nico. He is also survived by his sisters Kathleen Blevan (Kevin), Colleen Reed and Beth Ann Wisser (Joe), brothers Timmy (Tina), James (Jackie) and many nieces and nephews that he adored. He is also survived by his beloved sister in law Marlene
Vitanza Reynolds, brothers in laws Steve Israel (Jolene), Sam Israel (Brenda), Scott Israel (Judy), David Israel and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Cindy would like to thank the ALS Association of Arizona and Hospice of the
Valley for the exceptional care and support they provided for Kevin as he bravely
battled ALS for about three years. In lieu of flowers, Cindy would appreciate donations
made directly to the ALS Association of Arizona.
A Memorial celebration of Life for Kevin will be held at a later date.
