John Clifford Uren passed away peacefully in the company of family at the age of 91 in the Sherman Hospice Home on May 9, 2012. Born on August 15, 1920 in Gratiot Township, Wisconsin, he was the oldest child of Raymond and Helen Uren. He graduated from Warren High School in 1938, and married his high school sweetheart Pauline Peterson in 1941. John (known as Clifford to family and old friends) served his country during WWII, first building fighter aircraft for North American Aircraft, and later serving in the Army Air Corps. He later worked for over two decades in an engineering group at the Garrett Corporation. Pauline and John were married for fifty-seven years, parted only by Pauline's death in 1999. John will be remembered as an entertaining storyteller, a man who always took care of his family, and the kindest person anyone ever met. John is survived by his son, Paul Wren; granddaughters Emily Wren and Hannah Wren; and sister Dorothy Jane (Uren) Schultz. He is preceded in death by his wife, Pauline (Peterson) Uren; daughter, Jerilyn Sue Uren; and his parents, Raymond and Helen Uren.
