John L Harris Jr.

John is survived by his wife, Margaret Harris; his children; Velen Harris-Johnson (Curtis Johnson III), Mark Harris, Angela Valenzuela; Sister, Yvette Mills (Ed); Brother, Noel Mills (Veronica); Grandchildren, Markus Harris, Daylen Harris, Curtie Johnson IV, Myles Johnson, Milania Johnson, Cassidy Lerma and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. John was preceded in death by his Parents Adela and John, Brothers Mark and Robert Mills and Grandson Fabian Valenzuela.

John Harris was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on December 28, 1959 to Adela B Mills and John L Harris. He graduated from Carl Hayden High School in Phoenix, Arizona and went on to work for the City of Phoenix for over 25 years. John was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, going to the lakes, taking cruises on the ocean and spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren. John would vow to be a “handyman” as he loved to use his hands and fix things. John was an unbelievably caring person that would help anyone and he would always put others before himself. John was a person that you could always count on regardless of the day or time. John also enjoyed cooking. He will be missed by his family and loved ones.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Resthaven Mortuary & Memorial Gardens. Flowers and condolences may be offered at 4310 E. Southern Ave, Phoenix, Arizona 85042.
