James Lee Young born April 20, 1947, went to be with our heavenly father on December 24, 2022. James (Jimmy) as most called him was born in Phoenix, Arizona to Genevia Bell Dudley and William Hamilton. James was educated in Dallas, Texas and Phoenix, AZ where he worshiped the Lord as a member of the Supreme Council of the House of Jacob of the US Inc.
Jimmy’s first trade was cooking and baking. He worked as a cook at Smitty’s for many years and moved on to work as a cross country mover for Mayflower. Jimmy found his passion in construction as a foreman for Sundt Corp. and retired as a certified heavy equipment operator. Retirement didn’t slow him down as he enjoyed building and creating things from scraps and he would often be found tinkering around his home just to stay busy. Jimmy even built his own home, a rental home, and a garage just to name a few. The garage or “Poppa’s man cave” as we call it, is where he enjoyed listening to music and “thinking about and discussing the facts of life” as he would often say. Visiting with his family and friends and drinking coffee early in the morning next to a fire are moments he particularly enjoyed. However, Jimmy’s greatest joy was his grandchildren and taking off each year to go to his plantation in Texas with his brother Sterling, his nephew Albert (Kojak), friends, and anyone else who desired to help build on the land and take in the desert wildlife with no distractions from home.
While married to the late Cynthia D. White, Jimmy had two children Oralee J. and Genevia B. Young. Later in life he married Jeannetta Howard Routt and gained two stepsons, Terry V. Candler, and Tracey A. Dryer. He was preceded in death by his mother; Genevia B. Dudley, father; William Hamilton, sister Virginia White, brother-in-law and best friend Elder Don Payne, a very close friend Clarence “Pops” Malone, and God-daughter Yvonne Boyd. Jimmy leaves to cherish his memory his wife Jeannetta of 35 years, daughters; Oralee Young (Tinkerbell) (Adam Burns) and Genevia Young. Sons; Terry Candler, Tracey (Crystal)Dryer,
