Inez Lillian Brandt Barton, age 101 years of Phoenix passed away on May 4, 2012. Inez was born in St. Joseph Missouri on December 2nd, 1910 to George W. Brandt and Lula Mae Cadle. Inez moved to Aguila, Arizona in the 1940’s where she owned and operated the Little Aguila Coffee Shop. She prepared served hamburgers, chilli, stew, pies and other home-made meals. She then relocated to Wickenberg where she owned and operated the Little Hasseampa River Truck Stop. She then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and lived there for 18 years where she owned the Nevada Ceramics Shop, teaching ceramics and china painting classes. After living in Las Vegas, Inez returned to Arizona and settled in Phoenix where she continued to pursue her passion for ceramics and china painting at her leisure, teaching the craft and sharing her knowledge with others. Throughout her life, Inez worked hard at whatever she chose to do and had a great love for her life her family and her friends.
Inez is preceded in death by her sons, Alfred Hatch and Roy Jenkins, and her brothers Arthur and Ernie Brandt. She is survived by her daughters Sylvia Maxwell and Dianne Simmons as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 9th at 10:00 AM at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 2300 W. Van Buren St., Phoenix
