Howard Charles Rhodes, 84, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on 13th of November 2024. Born on the 15th of October 1940 in Chicago, Illinois, Howard was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, of 34 years Nancy, sister Judy, 8 children, 24 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Howard had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel. Throughout his lifetime, he had the opportunity to visit 21 countries and all 50 states. He was known for his kindness and generosity. He never met a stranger and helped anyone in need. He is preceded in death by mother Lillian, father Bernard, sister Roseanne and first wife Claudia.
Howard served proudly in the United States Navy under the command of the Ninth Naval District on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. During his service, he worked on General Motors Series 71 diesel engines and continued a life of service after his honorable discharge in 1964. A private funeral service with military honors will be held in the Spring at the VA National Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas.
The family wishes to send a special thanks to everyone that took the time to know and love Howard. He lived a good life and gave back abundantly.
