He is survived by his former spouse & good friend, Kelly Giver, their two daughters Nikki Giver, Erin (Jacob) Stanley, and his two grandchildren, Katherine & Hudson Stanley.
Glenn was born in Flint, Michigan April 21, 1956 and in 1968 he moved to Arizona with his mother, Rebecca Giver (d.2007) & his surviving brothers David, Tom, and John.
Glenn proudly served in the United States Army & Army National Guard from 1974-1983. After serving and being honorably discharged, he started his career with the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections. Glenn was a dedicated and valued state employee with over 29 years of service between the Department of Corrections and the Department of Juvenile Corrections. During his tenure with ADJC, he served in several positions including Lieutenant at Adobe Mountain School and a Program Project Specialist in the Inspections and Investigations Unit, which is now known as the Office of Inspector General. His friends and former co-workers from ADJC thought of him as part "Radar O'Riley" (from MASH fame), part "Macgyver" and always there for everyone anytime day or night.
During his tenure at ADJC he received many awards, some of which include Correctional Officer of the Year in 1988 and multiple Director Team Spirit Awards.
Glenn lived a long and fulfilling life where his memory will live on through his family and friends. Glenn had a significant impact on everyone he met, even if it meant pulling a “Glenn Giver”.
Honoring Glenn’s wishes, a small memorial service will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona on Wednesday March 8th, 2023, where he will be laid to rest.
