Florence Romero

Florence Floripa (Casias) Romero, 89, peacefully passed away on Monday September 23, 2013 at 12:02 pm in Phoenix, AZ. She was born on August 25, 1924 in Montrose, CO. to Eduardo and Ferminia (Samora) Casias. Florence grew up in Montrose, CO. and married in 1950 to Guy Cayetano Romero in Montrose and later moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1959. They were happily married for 41 years. Florence was preceded in death by her daughter Cirilia, her husband Guy, siblings Ben, Virgil and Roy and has a surviving sister Virginia Montoya of Hawthorne, NV. Florence is also survived by her daughter and sons; Ferminia, (Manuel) Moreno of Phoenix, AZ. Guy, (Debbie) Romero of Laveen, AZ. Eddie, (Michelle) Romero of Laveen, AZ., and her 12 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Florence Romero attended beauty school, owned and operated rest homes (Rosewood Manor), and also managed rentals (Sunland Palms). The viewing will be on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Resthaven Park located at 4310 E. Southern Avenue, Phoenix 85042 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm followed with the rosary at 7:00 pm. The Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at St. Catherine of Siena Church located at 6200 S. Central Avenue, Phoenix, 85041 at 10:00 am with the burial following at Resthaven. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at the Moreno residence.
