Michele was born August 12, 1966 in Oceanside, California, and passed away July 2, 2022 in Phoenix, Arizona. In between those dates, she lived a full life and made many wonderful friends she turned into a large extended family. Her kids have so many “aunts” and “uncles” they would find it difficult to identify who is actually related. Every holiday was an occasion for getting together with others and had corresponding labeled boxes of decorations in the basement. She loved living on a small farm with horses, donkeys, goats, dogs and chickens and was never happier than having parties outside or hosting weddings under the trees. For the past five years she has been one of the owners of South Mountain Cactus Company LLC, a wholesale cactus nursery.
Michele was diagnosed with Stage 4 ovarian cancer in late January, 2020, and had surgery followed by three full rounds of chemotherapy and the start of a fourth. She was always willing to do whatever it took to get better or to have more time—she very much wanted to live. While there were short periods of remission, the cancer ultimately progressed until active treatment ended and she came home with hospice assistance. Even then, she did her best to let her loved ones know she was ready and unafraid. She passed in the company of her family on a bright sunny Saturday morning.
Michele is predeceased by her father, Odis Nash, her brother, David Nash, her sister, Kim Pitsch, and her beloved aunt Sheila Burgan. She is survived by her mother, Lynda Nash, daughters, Olivia Miller-Jackson and Lily Miller, daughter -in-law, Courtney Jackson, grandson, Everett Jackson and husband, Jeffrey Miller. Michele and Jeff were married for 33 years.
Services will be held July 16, 2022, at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Memorial Gardens, 4310 E. Southern Avenue, Phoenix. Visitation begins at 9 am with the celebration of her life scheduled at 9:30. She will be buried at Resthaven immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Rancho Feliz Charitable Foundation or the American Cancer Society in her name.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.resthavencarrtenney.com for the Miller family.
