Betty Lillian Papa

Friends and family are invited to gather together for the funeral service and reception, to be held at Dignity Memorial on January 30, 2016 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Michael Shepard officiating.

Betty was born in North Attleborough, Massachusetts to Margaret Denzer and Charles Allen on February 4, 1929. She attended Lockwood High School in Rhode Island and graduated in 1947. She went on to earn certificates in typing and later worked as a receptionist in the insurance business, as well as being a dedicated hotel housekeeper for Marriott Hotels for over 2 decades. In 1952, she married James Papa, a long term resident of Warwick, Rhode Island and later bought their first and only home to raise their family in Phoenix, Arizona. Betty was involved in Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed playing the accordion, going to movies, travelling, raising dachshunds, and engaging in lively conversation amongst friends and family.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, James Anthony Papa, and her son, Allen James Papa.

Betty is survived by her second cousins: Gretchen Fletcher and her children, and Susan Taylor and her son.
