Betty Jane (Davies) Dorman Baumer was born on 8/23/41 in Coshocton, Ohio to Betty Beatrice Terrell and Evan Davies. She enjoyed cheerleading, band and spending time with family including her numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
After High School Betty moved to Arizona to attend college where she met and married her first husband William (Bill) Dorman with whom she had three children: Kimberly, Elizabeth and Marc. Eventually her parents joined her in Phoenix, including siblings Leroy, Suzanne and Jon. Holidays were always an extended family affair and great fun with new cousins growing up together much as she experienced in Ohio herself. During this time Betty worked in the Paradise Valley School District, eventually working her way up to High School Bookstore Manager.
Bill passed away in 1980, then years later she met and married Ezra (Ez) Baumer and after some time living in Phoenix they retired and travelled the US visiting friends and family, often in their fifth wheel. Together they built a new home in Flagstaff, bought a second home in New Mexico and then returned to the Valley, enjoying being closer to family. By this time she had three grandchildren: Hailli and Beau (Marc) and Avalon (Bethe). She continued her passion for crocheting gifts, hosting and entertaining for many years until Ez passed away. Yearning to be closer to her brother Leroy and children she moved from Glendale to a beautiful condo in Scottsdale for several fun years, making many new friends as was her custom.
When she experienced mobility issues in 2021 her brother suggested she might enjoy watching her last grandchild grow up in Northern AZ and they visited Bethe’s mother-in-law’s Senior Living Facility in Prescott, falling in love with the apartment and its amenities. Betty moved into her new apartment in November, thrilled at the activities, services and socialization at meals. She loved rotating tables at all three meals in order to ‘meet and catch up with all her new friends.’ Over the moon at learning a new town and spending extended time with her granddaughter Avalon, she enjoyed luncheons, parties and more while she awaited a knee replacement surgery in June.
Betty’s surgery went well and she was happy to move from a walker to a cane (‘mostly for balance, not pain!’ she said) by mid July. Residents and employees at her apartment noted she was happy and pain free, back to her outgoing and social self. While her sudden passing came as a shock, our grief is assuaged a bit knowing that she had already truly returned to enjoying all that life offered.

Time for me to go now, I won’t say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, way up in the sky.
In the morning sunrise when all the world is new,
Just look for me and Love me, as you know that I loved you.
Time for me to go now, I won’t say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, high up in the sky.
In the evening sunset, when all the world is through,
Just look for me and Love me and I’ll be close to you.
It won’t be forever, the day will come and then
My loving arms will hold you when we meet again.
Time for us to part now, we won’t say goodbye;
Look for me in rainbows, shining in the sky.
Every waking moment and all your whole life through
Just look for me and Love me, as you know I loved you.
Just wish me near to you, And I’ll be there with you.
