Barton L. Colbert

Barton “Bart” Lamar Colbert 84, passed away peacefully in his sleep 2/28/16. He was living in Phoenix, Arizona for the past year but lived in Blythe, California for the previous 40 years where he had worked in the Cotton Ginning Business. He had worked in this business for over 60 years.

Bart was born August 26, 1931 in, Ola, Arkansas to Lamar and Wilma Colbert, oldest of 4 sons including: Loyd Colbert, currently of Blythe, California; Thomas Colbert of Buckeye, Arizona; and Roy Colbert of Willcox, Arizona. The family moved from Arkansas to Arizona in 1948. Bart was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 51 years Valentina. He is survived by his two sons, Lamar and Frank Colbert, Lamar’s wife Julia and Frank’s wife Rebecca. Eight Grandchildren: Lamar Barton IV, Christopher John, Wesley Frank Colbert, Briana L. Fricke, Veronica M. and Troy Colbert, Michelle Campbell, and Elizabeth Colbert; Seven Great grandchildren: Dallas J., Jackson L. and Nolan Colbert, Eliza R., Esther R. and Hanna N. Colbert, and Sophia Valentina Fricke. Visitation and Viewing will be Saturday at 10:00 AM with Funeral Services following immediately at 11:00 AM. It will all be held at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery/Mortuary at 719 N 27th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85009, phone (602)272-5639
