Anna’s story begins like many other Americans. She is the granddaughter of Italian Immigrants who settled in New York City at the turn of the Century. She was born in 1937 to first generation Italian-Americans, Josephine Billera Cifelli and Romeo Raymond Cifelli. She was the oldest of three children and has two younger brothers, Romeo Raymond Jr. and Anthony Joseph. Anna grew up in New York City and always had a no nonsense attitude. She married Peter Zito, had three daughters and moved to San Jose California in 1978. While in San Jose, Anna fell in love with Jesus and became a Christian and served for many years at the Juvenile Detention Facility, ministering to troubled youth. Anna was also a very successful sales person selling computer circuit boards to top tier companies all over the United States. Her personality and love for people came through in everything she did. After living in SJ, Anna settled in Florida for several years actively serving in deliverance & inner healing ministries as well as intercessory prayer. In 2003, Anna moved to Arizona and became very involved in ministering to women in need.
Anna is survived by her three daughters and three sons-n-law: Janine and Steve Leone, Maria and Don Lawrence, Andrea and Matt Johnson; 8 grandchildren and two granddaughters-in-law: Chris and Nicole Leone, Stephen and Jena Leone, Stephanie Johnson, Matthew Leone, Abrianna Lawrence, Josiah Leone, Bella Lawrence, and Gabby Lawrence; and two brothers, Romeo II & Anthony Cifelli, two sister-in-laws, and many loving nieces and nephews. Anna will always be remembered for her strong faith and her love for the Lord Jesus Christ. Services will be held at City of Grace, 9610 E. Cactus Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85260. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made in Anna’s name to Focus on the Family at www.focusonthefamily.org as this ministry has always been near and dear to her heart.
