Sara Slocumb Cannon

A celebration of life funeral service for Mrs. Cannon will be held Saturday, December 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Lakewood Baptist Church, Phenix City, Alabama, with Rev. Ralph Henderson officiating. A visitation for family and friends will occur Saturday, December 31, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church.

Mrs. Cannon was born April 11, 1922 in Phenix City, Alabama;daughter of the late Carl and Eva Jackson Slocumb. She was a self-employed beautician by trade and a member of Lakewood Baptist Church and WMU.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John Sanford Brewer, Jr., daughter, Sharon Cannon Byers, sisters and brothers; Joyce Murphy, Dennis Slocumb, Mildred Benton, Faye Farrar and Billy Slocumb.

Survivors include her husband of 70 years, M. Olease Cannon, daughters, Miriam Cannon Brasher (Ron), Wanda Cannon Masters (David), son, Michael Olease Cannon, Sr., long time care giver "Sunshine", daughter-in-law, Terrie Brewer, son-in-law, Gary Byers and her brother, David Slocumb. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Angela Brewer, Cheryl Webb (Jamie), John Brewer, Jr., Moriah Oswalt, John Oswalt, Lindsey Quinn (Brett), Lee Masters (Heather), Traci Bridges, Gary Byers, Jr., Michael Olease Cannon, Jr. (Emily), Hailey Micahle Cannon along with 17 great grandchildren and one great- great grandchildren.
