Reginald Barr was born on June 1, 1933, in Providence, Rhode Island to the late Reginald Julian Barr, Sr. and Grace Wahl Barr. After Reginald graduated from Smiths Station High School, he went on to serve in the U.S. Army as Sergeant First Class (1953-1955). Retiring with more than 20 years from Southern Bell, he continued to work with Siemens Corporation where he would later retire.
In 1956, Reginald wed Mary Jim. Reginald and Mary Jim were blessed with three children, Rex, Mike, and Terri, and 66 years of faithful marriage. As a faithful follower of Christ, he served as an active member and Elder of the Phenix City Church of Christ where he oversaw the building of a new church. He was most recently a member of Dalraida Church of Christ in Montgomery. He was dedicated and devoted to serving the Lord. Reginald was also involved in the community. He was a part of the organizing committee and coached his sons the first year that the Smiths Station Little League began. It would be remiss to not note that Reginald was an avid fisherman. His love for long hours reeling in fish was spent with generations of his loved ones—wife through great-grandchildren.
Reginald is preceded in death by his parents, Reginald Barr, Sr. and Grace Barr, by his sisters, Georgia Eiland, Arlene Owens, and his brother, Bobby Barr.
He is survived by his wife Mary Jim Barr, his sons Reginald “Rex” Albert Barr (Cheryl) and Michael Lynn Barr, Sr. (Trudi), his daughter Terri Louise Brown, sister Barbara Barr Pritchett; his grandchildren, Michael Barr, Jr. (Bobbie Lee), Haley Hudson (Jared), Bradley Newman, Kyle Barr (Lauren), Matthew Barr (Tiffany), Andrew Barr (Jordan), Garrett Barr (Janie), his great-grandchildren Emma Mae, Annabelle, Brody, Michael, Annsley, Landry, Dylan, Elliot, Asher, Lucas, Presley, and Eden.

Burial with military honors will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
