Louise G. Stewart, 90 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Monday, September 19, 2022 at the Columbus Hospice House. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 22, 2022 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, Alabama, with Pastor Marvin Minton officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Stewart was born June 15, 1932 in Banks, Alabama; daughter of the late Monroe Garrett and Dora Traywick Garrett. She was retired after 40 years of service from Fieldcrest Cannon as a payroll auditor and served as the church treasurer for 35 years. She was the longest living member of Crawford Road Baptist Church since joining in 1961.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Stewart, son, Larry Stewart, sister, Evelyn Hagler and her brother, James Garrett.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Chris Wood, her grandson, Cody Wood all of Phenix City, AL along with numerous nieces, nephews, church family, neighbors and friends.
The family wishes that donations be made to the Crawford Road Baptist Church Building Fund, 2706 US Hwy 80 W. Phenix City, AL 36870 or to Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Rd., Columbus, GA 31909 in memory of Mrs. Louise Stewart.
