Florence Rhoades Thompson

A Visitation for Family and Friends of Florence will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867, followed by A Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Avery Smith officiating.

Mrs. Thompson was born on September 10, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Thomas M. and Mary McNinch Rhodes. She retired from the US Postal Service after 35 years of service and was a supporter of the D.A.V.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Bruce Thompson; sons, Ross Thompson and Robert Thompson; and son-in-law, Robert Olson.

Survivors include her daughter, Terri Olson; brother, Steve Rhodes (Kris); daughter-in-law, Carla Thompson; granddaughters, Lisa Ross (Mike), Nicole DuBois (John), Hollie Thompson, Lesley Miller (David), and Kirsten Thompson and family; grandsons, RJ Thompson, Christopher Thompson and family, and John Thompson and family; and seven great grandchildren.
