Fannie Louisa Scoville Davis, 87 of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away Monday, January 3, 2011 at Canterbury Health Care. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 6, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL with Rev. James B. Davis officiating. Serving as pall bearers are Ricky Cosby, Jeff Cosby, Zack Cosby, Terry Langley, Bob Avant and Jordan Avant. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Davis was born November 15, 1923 in York, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late James Douglas and Fannie Louisa Scoville. She was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Salem, AL, was a retired as a social worker from the Salvation Army in Norristown, PA. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Byron Davis, siblings, James Douglas Scoville, Jr. and Mary Anne Scoville.
Survivors include her sister, Sue Gray and husband Bob , step-son, Rev. James B. Davis and wife, Olivia all of Berlin, MD, nieces, Karen Palardy and husband, Douglas, Deborah Parker and husband Patrick , one great niece and two great nephews all of Maryland, step-grandchildren, Jonathan Davis and wife, Shea of Roanoke, VA, Dorothy Ann Fouche and husband, Brian of Stockbridge, GA, six step-great grandchildren all of Roanoke, VA, brother-in-law, Jimmy Davis, of Phenix City, AL, sisters-in-law, Mary Davis Rumsey, Jackie Cosby Williamson and husband, James, Lorene "Lori" Odom all of Salem, AL, several other nieces, nephews and relatives.
