Diane Pittman, 72, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Monday, January 20, 2020 in Columbus, Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 24, 2020 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, Alabama. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Pittman was born December 29, 1947 in Eufaula, Alabama; daughter of the late Edwin David and Magalene Johnson Pittman. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Warren; her son, Lawrence Paul "Little Paul" Hobson, Jr.; sister, Betty Jeanette Pittman; and nephews, Donnie Knotts and Timothy "Nick" Nickel.
Mrs. Pittman, better known as "Granny", loved collecting angel figurines. She loved wind chimes, flowers, playing games on her phone and having a good time. She was very devoted to her family.
Survivors include her daughters, Amanda Hobson-Stewart (Travis) and Ashley Hobson-Melendez (Danny), all of Phenix City, Alabama; brother, Roy Pittman (Shirley) of Columbus, Georgia; sister, Angenell Pittman of Phenix City, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Christopher "Bam" Hobson, Zoey Melendez, Christian Thomas, Lacey Melendez, Kinsley Melendez, Avery Melendez, Phoeby "Pebbles" Melendez and many other children that she classified as her grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
