Maria was preceded in death by her beloved husband and father of her fourteen children, Guillermo Cantu.
Left behind to cherish her memory are, her sons, Vicent (Nilda) Cantu; James (Donna) Cantu, Robert (Becky) Cantu, Arturo (Olga+) Cantu, Oscar (Lisa) Cantu, and Noe (Margie) Cantu; her daughters, Dalia Guillermina Riojas and family, Yolanda (Jesse) Garcia, Olga Cantu, Nazaria Cantu, Blanca Cantu, Elizabeth (Ray) Salinas, Beatriz(Carlos) Vargas, and Rachel Betancourt; forty -one grandchildren; and thirty –six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin Friday, November 25, 2016, beginning at 1 p.m., and will continue until 8 p.m., with a prayer service to begin at 6 p.m., at Palm Valley Funeral Home Chapel of Remembrance. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26, at 10 a.m., at Palm Valley Funeral Home Chapel of Remembrance with entombment to follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
