Vera Marin

Another angel was called upon to join the ranks in Heaven. With great sadness, Vera Garibay Marin, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, left this world on February 19th at 11:30 a.m. surrounded by her loving family.

Vera was born August 14, 1934 in Thorndale, Texas to the late Eliseo Garibay and Herlinda Solis. Vera married the late Cirildo Marin, Sr. in 1955 and had six children: Marilyn Lawrence, Cirildo Marin, Marleen Wehr, Martha Marin, Carlos Marin, and Christopher Marin.

Vera worked as a nurse, caring for others until her health deteriorated and prevented her services. She treasured her family and made anyone and everyone feel welcome in her presence. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family while sipping coffee, watching her telenovelas on television, and had a “green thumb” for gardening which was her passion. To know her was to love her.

Those who cherish her memory are her six children, 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

A vigil service will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on March 4, 2022 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. A graveside service will be held the following day on March 5, 2022 beginning at 10 a.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
