Summer Hargrave, 40, of Bastrop, Texas passed away on October 8, 2017. She was born in Austin, Texas on January 31, 1977 to Daryl Hargrave and Marylin (Hargrave) Holmstrom. Summer grew up in Hutto, Texas and graduated with honors in 1995. After high school she went on to Tarellton State University for one semester and transferred to Southwest Texas State University where she graduated in 1999 with a degree in healthcare administration. Although she was the first person in the family to earn a college degree she ultimately found her calling as a massage therapist, her true passion in life was helping other people. As much as she loved doing massage, she felt her greatest accomplishment was her son, Orion, whom she loved more than anything in this world.
Summer was always the best at everything she did, from playing volleyball to marching in the high school marching band. Everyone who met her loved her. Summer’s smile would light a room and she always gave world class hugs. When Summer hugged you, you instantly felt better about whatever was going on in your life. She was one of the most compassionate and loving people for all living creatures. She loved animals like very few people do and cared for humans in a way that touched anyone who knew her, she was a one of a kind person who has exited this world way to young. For all those left behind the world is a lot less bright without her in it.
Summer is survived by her son; Orion River Bellanca, her step-father and mother; Russ and Marylin Holmstrom, her step-mother; Susan Hargrave, sister and brother in law; Ashley and Kevin Alexander, sister and brother in law; Dawn and Darin Tiedemann, sister; Misti Holmstrom, nieces; Kaitlyn and Victoria Holmstrom, and Brooklyn Tiedemann, nephew; Dylan Tiedemann, along with another nephew on the way. As well as grandparents; Carroll and Karen Holmstrom and Elsie Lucas. Along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Summer is preceded in death by her father; Daryl Hargrave, grandmothers; Ethel “Lee” Peterson, Martha Hill Povse, and Sue Holmstrom, and grandfathers; Sam B. Hill, Homer Hargrave, Leland “Pete” Peterson, and William “Dub” Lucas, Jr.
