Once he moved to Austin, Texas, he was a lifelong member of Saint Louis Church, King of France. He enjoyed a long and successful career at the Texas Department of Transportation, paralleled by an equally fruitful retirement.
Bob lived with gusto and integrity and humor. He was especially generous with his time, talents, and as anyone will attest, with his stories for every occasion. Bob, was a beloved genius of all things mechanical and afficionado of anything motorized with wheels, who lived his motto of "make yourself useful" in many ways. He rode dirt bikes and motorcycles for fifty years.
He participated in shooting competitions with the Austin Gun Club. He spent many years with the Austin Area Car Club and took pride in his 1931 Ford Deluxe Roadster. Bob and Maggie participated in the Holiday Rambler Recreational Vehicle Club traveling across the United States for over twenty years. Along with their RV friends, they enjoyed summers in Chama, New Mexico. Bob leaves a wonderful legacy and will be remembered fondly.
