Patti Jo Davis, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter and friend, departed this earthly life on March 17, 2023. She is preceded in death by her son, Dietrich Davis, her parents JoAnne and Robert Parker, her niece Sri Dalton and her nephew, James Parker.
Patti was born on November 8, 1945, in Houston, Texas to JoAnne and Robert Parker. She was raised in Baytown, Texas and lived there until she entered Texas Women’s University. She completed her education at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Patti spent her career serving others as a surgical nurse, as a home health nurse and in her later career, as a nursing administrator. In subsequent years, she lived in Austin, Dripping Springs and Round Rock where she was active in her church communities.
Patti was a blessing to anyone who crossed her path, both personally and professionally. Her dry sense of humor, sometimes wry but always hilarious, was usually delivered with comedic timing and so softly, you had to listen well to catch the comment. She was a joy to anyone who was lucky enough to be touched by her sweet type of care and kindness. She loved gardening, bird and star watching, reading and bookclubs, knitting, attending worship services and making bread for communion. She was a keen observer of nature and worked joyously on the herb garden at Brookdale. Her acts of service included help with the weekly floral arrangements for the dining room, knitting tiny blankets for use in a NICU and was a library volunteer. She had a heart to serve others, she was considerate, witty, devoted and grateful.
She was a big part of all of our lives and her life and memory are a blessing to those who survive her.
Those left to honor her memory are her daughters, Genevieve Brooks (Quinn Brooks) and Dawn Davis (Nicole Hutchins), her grandchildren Chloe and Chase Gillmar and siblings Bette Bourgeois (Ron Scott), Mary Dalton and Robert Parker. She is also survived by six nieces and nephews and fifteen great nieces and nephews.
“We are all just walking each other home.” RamDas
So today, in memory of Patti, walk with someone, listen, serve, help, laugh, share, love, be kind.
In lieu of flowers, Patti would love donations be made to UMCOR (Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church), or the charity of your choice.
