Medora followed in her mother’s footsteps and became an educator, teaching all ages of children until retirement. She especially enjoyed working with her kindergarten students. Her favorite pastimes were crocheting, reading, classical music, playing piano and volunteering for numerous organizations around Austin. She was a faithful member of Riverbend Church.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents; and daughters, Lisa and Karen. Medora leaves to cherish her memory husband, William Ricks; daughters, Sandra Kellogg and her husband Tom, and Lori Rickabaugh and her husband Scott; step-daughter, Cyndee Fellwock and her husband Pete; grandchildren, Michelle, Jessica, Steven, Kristina, Skyler, Sam, Ainslie and Jade; and her brother, Edward Hahn of Mason, Texas.
Medora’s family will greet guests at a visitation to be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2015 with services to honor her life following at 10:00 a.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. She will then be laid to rest at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Paulette Schwartz, M.A. of Riverbend Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family recommends memorial contributions are made to Hospice Austin’s Christopher House or a charity of your choice.
