After getting married, she was a homemaker for most of her adult life and was devoted to raising her four children. In her 40’s she was a consultant for helping those with disabilities. She helped them interview for jobs and worked with them to establish a good work etiquette, social skills and how to be a productive worker in society. Not one to have idle hands, she loved writing, drawing, and painting. She also loved spending time with friends and family, fishing, bowling and going to holiday parties.
Linda is preceded in death by her, father Ralph Loy; her mother, Mildred (Coppedge) Loy; her sisters, Myrna O’Banion and Mary Bennett; her brother, Adrian Loy; her first husband and father of her four children, Xavier Lopez; and her son, Louis Lopez (Robin Lopez surviving spouse).
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Sheron Wechsler (Husband Mike), Anthony Lopez, and Elizabeth Lopez-Wilson; her grandchildren, Jamie Martin (Husband Adam), Melissa Newkirk, Brooke Spinks (Husband Michael), Brianna Wechsler and Sienna Wechsler; and her great-grandchildren, Zander Martin, Kaelyn Martin, Lila Newkirk and Silas Newkirk.
The family would like to thank Outreach Health Services and Hospice Austin for treating our mother with care and compassion.
A memorial service celebrating Linda’s life will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in the Walden Room of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. The family asks that those who attend to please wear a mask while in the building.
Those who wish to donate to a foundation may give a contribution in her memory to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, which was the charity closest to her heart.
