Kristen Marie Martinez passed away after a courageous fight with cervical / metastatic cancer on September 27, 2022 surrounded by her adoring family. The date of her passing is significant as her heart was always in 27 Dove Springs, which was the CapMetro route for Dove Springs back in the day.
Born on July 17, 1980, Kristen had a true heart of gold that she shared with everyone who entered her life. She was born to her dear mother, Pauline Marie Davila, and they had a bond as friends. Her devoted grandmother, Linda Villela Garcia, shared a tight bond with Kristy as she played a significant role in raising her. Kristy came from a large family, totaling 14 siblings, with Kristen being the first born child on her mother’s side of the family.
As a child, Kristen attended Houston, TA Brown and Widen Elementary schools. She attended Mendez Middle School. She then attended Johnston High School and graduated from Parkwood Private School. She then pursued a trade school at Baldwin Beauty School for hair and nails. Kristen was a dedicated and talented student growing up. During her childhood years, she was proud to have been raised in the Dove, 78744, Dove Springs in Southeast Austin and would later on marry into East Austin 78721.
Kristy grew up to become a celebrated business woman and community advocate. As a businesswoman, Kristy was CEO of Kreation Station, a custom gift/t-shirt/merchandise store. She was also a founding member and served in the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Intense Entertainment 512-IE512 LLC. Both Kristy and her husband Mark were partners in many philanthropic endeavors and many contributed countless hours as community volunteers and advocates for children in their neighborhood. Together they grew to become well known for their generous contributions to local churches, public elementary, middle, and high schools in the city of Austin and all over the state of Texas.
Kristy cherished family and friends in her life and shared her bright light of love with all who met her. First and foremost as a hard tough/sweet loving mother. Then as a devoted loving soulmate to her husband. As a Grandmother, and better known as “TiTi” she was loved, and adored by her 5 grandchildren. Tia Kristy will always be remembered and cherished by 65 nieces and nephews and 48 great nieces and nephews who Kristy doted on. Kristy was honored to serve as Godmother to 7 Godchildren. Kristy was also well known as “Mom” to numerous honorary children, including her children’s classmates, who enjoyed her love, advice, good home cooked meals, and comforting embrace. It would take pages to list every single family member of Kristy’s as she was not only a mom, but also a wife, a daughter, a sister, a prima, a tia, a TiTi, and was also notoriously known as Chika, Chika-44, and Boss Lady.
Kristen is survived by her adoring husband of 20 years, and partner for life Mark Anthony “Boss” Martinez, Sr. and their children: Bobby Mercado, Mark Anthony Martinez Jr., Roy Angel Garcia, Nathan Alexander Martinez, Isaiah Lee Garcia, Mariah Lynn Martinez, Leilani Nevaeh Martinez, and Tristen Anthony Martinez.
Also surviving her, is her mother, Pauline Marie Davila, uncle Robert Garcia (Kristy), her cherished grandmother, Linda Villela Garcia and partner “Pops” Andrew Astran, as well as her loving siblings: Luisana Marie Garcia (Gerson), Mayra Marie Garcia (Mike), Sarah Marie Garcia, Steven James Gonzales (Veronica), Richard Davila (Cynthia), Marsha Davila Escobedo (Roger), Gil Davila, Burt Davila, Gilbert Torres (Genie), Roland Rene Diaz, Melissa Diaz, Monica Gonzalez (Manuel), David Ramirez, and Veronica Diaz. She is also survived by her In-laws: Mother-in-Law Imelda Martinez, and sisters-in-law: Ana Elizeth Martinez, Viviana Martinez, Silvana Arriaga (John) and Johanna Martinez (♱Esiquiel). Her grandchildren who survive her include: Mariana Giselle Martinez, Liliana Rose Martinez, Kaiser James Garcia, Mary Jane Garcia, and Katherine Martinez.
Kristen was preceded in death and has returned into the loving embrace of her beloved Uncle Santiago Garcia, Tio Andrew “Jap” Villela, Tia Terry Ybarra, and her caring father-in-law Esiquiel Martinez Sr. and brother-in-law Esiquiel Martinez, Jr. She was everything to everyone and will truly be missed by everyone who loved her.
