Our beloved son, James Martin Wilson was born on October 4, 1962, in Mildenhall, England to Josephine Dukes Wilson and Samuel Martin Wilson, CMSgt (Ret.). On July 29, 2020, at Westside Regional Medical Center, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at the age of 57 our cherished son went to be with the Lord.
James’s memory will be forever treasured in the hearts and minds of his family: his father, Samuel Wilson; his sisters and brother, Dawna, Renee and Michael; his wife, Abigail Flores Wilson and children; Nelson and Yalitza; former wife, Kathy and his children, Stephanie and James; former wife Rita and his son, Michael; Nephews, Darryl, Darren, Uriah, Zebadiah and George; Neices, Kandice, Sasha, Renee and Elizabeth; 6 grandchildren; Aunt Gene and Uncle James, Aunt Maria, Uncle AW, and Uncle Edwin along with a number of beloved cousins and friends.
James graduated high school, and attended Southwest Texas State for approximately 1 year. Shortly after, James discovered that he had a real passion in auto sales. He went on to enjoy a successful career in the field, later using those skills to launch a business as a “Window Tint subcontractor” for auto dealerships across the Austin area.
Over the years, James grew into a relationship with the Lord, devoting many years of his life to the ministry. He held key leadership roles in the Ministry of Challenge in Austin, continuing his mission of service upon moving to Florida. He worked with his church families there in outreach to the homeless, where he managed the food pantry and helped feed dozens in need.
All of James’s life he has been a champion of the little guy or gal in one way or another. He was always a fierce protector of his family and close friends. So, it was no surprise when the little boy baptized at New Hope Baptist Church would become a champion of the Word of God and fiercely spread the Good News without fear. We are comforted and blessed to know that James Martin Wilson is with his mother, Josephine and the Lord in Heaven.
