George Spencer Perry

He was born in Manor, Texas on March 13, 1926, to William Hicks Perry and Florence (Wolberg) Perry. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. George married the love of his life, Beverley Jeanne Miller, on November 6, 1951. While he worked and had a career in aeronautical engineering, Beverley was able to stay at home with their two daughters, Alison and Diane. He eventually retired from Bell/Textron in Hurst, Texas. In 2018, George and Beverley moved to Georgetown to be closer to their daughters and made their home in Sun City.

George was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Elks Lodge. In his spare time and in his retirement, he enjoyed flying his private aircraft, woodworking, acrylic and oil painting and flying radio control airplanes. George also loved reading poetry and would often quote different poems in conversation. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and received his honorable discharge from active duty in June of 1946 with the rank of Radioman, Third Class.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 72 years, Beverley Perry; his daughters, Alison Greene and her husband, Don and Diane Hutto and her husband, Tim; his grandchildren, Shawna Pounds, Jackie Cooper, Chris Hutto, Meredith Madrigal, and Adriel Ofczarzak. He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings and his grandson, James Greene.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
