Edward F. Flanagan (Ed), 53, of Pflugerville, Texas passed away April 29th, 2020. He was born in Paterson, New Jersey in 1966, most recently relocating to Pflugerville, Texas, after residing in the New Jersey and New York City area for 53 years. He grew up in Dumont, New Jersey and graduated from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut in 1988, with a degree in Economics. He worked in New York City in Investor Relations/ Operations and as a Shareholder Services Specialist. In recent years, he also enjoyed being a senior tax specialist in New Jersey and Texas.
Ed married the love of his life, Tami (Savasta) Flanagan 19 years ago and they had a beautiful daughter, Amelia Noel.
Ed was preceded in death by his father, Edward B. Flanagan, his mother Erika K. (Wegner) Flanagan of Rutherford, New Jersey, his aunt and uncle, Jeanne Hofacker (Edward T.) of Toms River, New Jersey.
He is survived by his aunt, Gisela Jansen (Jerry) of Germany; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Cathryn Tremewan of Pflugerville, Texas, and Nicklas and Stefanie Savasta of Gilbert, Arizona; his cousins, Edward Hofacker of Toms River, New Jersey, Carol Skinner of Chatham, New Jersey, Nancy LePree (Michael) of Toms River, New Jersey and Eileen Soliman of Mt. Arlington, New Jersey. Ed was cherished by his in-laws, Marcella Savasta and Kenci and Randy Lewis and he was loved by his nieces and nephews, Carly and Justin Tremewan of Pflugerville, Texas and Liam and Colin Savasta of Gilbert, Arizona.
Ed was an amazing man. He very much enjoyed playing volleyball and softball, spending time at the Jersey shore, laying on the beach during the day and going to Fantasy Island Amusement Park with his family, eating ice cream and funnel cakes at night, with the goal of winning items for Amelia on the games. He would not stop playing until he won. He loved watching college and professional sports and was a big fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. He was quite competitive, especially when the Giants met Dallas each November. He loved screaming on roller coasters to make everyone hysterically laugh. He enjoyed learning how to play Spite and Malice and Dumb Swede Dice. He cherished long weekends in the Poconos and going away for a “guy’s weekend” camping with his friends. He loved hanging with his best friends, Sancho and Wesley, smoking cigars and drinking tequila along with a good shot of whiskey. He especially loved walking down Main Street Disney holding his daughters hand, watching her compete in ice skating competitions and snuggling to a good horror movie. But most of all, the love he had for his family, was irreplaceable. He will be greatly missed for his unique sense of humor and immense care for others. He was respected tremendously and was a friend to all.
