Bernard G. LeDoux

He was baptized at Uganda Martyrs Catholic Church and graduated from Uganda Martyrs Catholic School. Bernard served for two years in the U.S. Military as a Sergeant which included a tour in Germany. An avid sportsman, he joined a baseball team during his stay there. After his tour, he returned home to Oklahoma.

In 1951, Bernard married the Margaret Close (now deceased). To that union, seven children were born: Dwayne, Clair, Keith, Brian, Gerald, Gayle, and Dwight.

Bernard moved to San Jose, California, in the 1960’s, after being recruited by United Airlines. He worked at the San Francisco base as a maintenance coordinator until his retirement in 1989.

In August 1990, Bernard married his loving wife Verna Oubre LeDoux. After residing in Austin, TX, for six years, the happy couple moved to Broussard, Louisiana, where they lived for three years. Bernard was deeply involved and devoted to his faith, from making friends with Father Brendan Muphy from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Houston who was also serving in Broussard, Louisiana then. Bernard also volunteered at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church five days a week for eight hours daily, teaching confirmation classes in the evenings.

Bernard is preceded in death by his mother, Cecile Goudeau LeDoux; his father, Christoval LeDoux; his sister, Irene LeDoux and Theresa LeDoux LeBlanc; and sister-in-law, Tanya LeDoux.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Verna LeDoux; His children Clair, Keith, Brian, Gerald Gayle and Dwight; and his brother Robert LeDoux of Okmulgee, OK.

A funeral service for Bernard will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 9500 Neenah Ave, Austin, Texas 78717.
